- Heavy rainfall has been affecting Mozambique in the last few days, causing flooding and prompting evacuations. - Since 18 March, an evacuation order has been issued for people living in low-lying areas in the provinces of Inhambane, Gaza and Sofala due to flooding. Several shelters have been opened in the affected areas, and the situation has been monitored by national authorities. - Mozambique has been affected by severe flooding during the rainy season and the passage of Tropical Cyclone GEZANI in early February. The humanitarian impact due to the rainy season caused 279 fatalities, 11 missing, 340 injured people, and 892 273 displaced. - Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall is forecast over the whole country, and heavy rainfall is expected in the northern provinces. - INGD announced
